In another sign that the St. Louis Rams made a great decision cutting both Orlando Pace and Torry Holt last off season, Holt was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Former Rams great wide receivers Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt are both free agents.

In an expected move, today the Rams said good-bye to another former number one draft choice, as the team released wide receiver Torry Holt. It’s the second first-round pick to be released by the team this past week, as the team also released OT Orlando Pace.

It’s a sad day in Ramsdom as Jim Thomas of Around the Horns reporting today that Torry Holt is asking for his release. He think (probably correctly) that he is not in the Rams plans.

The Rams could decide to restructure Torry Holt’s contract, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Rams could use the extra money on re-signing cornerback Ronald Bartell. Cutting or trading Holt would free up $8 million, but restructuring his deal would still save millions.
