Redskins Sign OJ Atogwe

So, it turns out this will not be another summer of OJ.  Atogwe decided to end his free agent experience earlier this year, agreeing to a deal with the Washington Redskins today.  Atogwe obviously was not as valued by the Rams at the level he expected.  In the Rams defensive scheme, the two safeties are interchangeable and […]

Another OJ Offseason

Last year we spent the whole offseason hearing about OJ Atogwe’s free agent visits and potential visits only to have Atogwe come back to St. Louis and sign a multi-year deal that was really only a 1-year deal.  The Rams and Atogwe agreed on which day to have the roster bonus due knowing full well […]

Rams Release Atogwe

Per Jim Thomas on Twitter, the Rams have released OJ Atogwe, declining his $8 million roster bonus.  After all the back and forth last offseason with Atogwe, we would be surprised if he did not return to the Rams after the CBA is signed.

Atogwe and Jackson Active

Offensive and defensive captains OJ Atogwe and Steven Jackson are active for the Rams today. No word on how much either player will play, but Steven Jackson will start.

Early Great Injury News

I hate to bump a “Rams Win” post off the top of the page, but the Rams have some early returns from their injuries to two of their star players. Two good updates from OneRamsWay on twitter, the Rams official twitter feed: Updates from locker room: RB Steven Jackson has groin injury, Spags says “fairly” […]

Training Camp Position Breakdown: S

The safeties are the last group to go before the specialists.   We are almost home! OJ Atogwe – The Rams played the staredown game with OJ Atogwe all summer.  They called his bluff about other teams being interested in him and let him test free agency late in the summer.  Nothing materialized and both sides […]

Atogwe’s Contract Details

Howard Balzer of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat got a closer look at the supposed 5 year contract that OJ Atogwe signed with the Rams two weeks ago and exposed some very interesting details. The deal is a 5 year contract, but it is also simply a 1 year/$4 million contract.  There is an out in […]

Keeping Atogwe

I suppose it is good to have Oshiomogho Atogwe back.  Of course no one else wanted him (the Bears decided they’d rather have Chris Harris), but he is one of the best defensive players in the Rams secondary.  And he does have some good individual numbers.  In the 2007 season, Atogwe had a team and NFC-high 8 interceptions […]
