Rams Release CB Kayvon Webster

The Rams have released veteran cornerback Kayvon Webster according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The move saves the team approximately $3 million in cap space, which they need to negotiate longterm deals with wide receiver Brandin Cooks and defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Originally a third-round pick by the Denver Broncos out of South Florida in 2013, Webster drew eleven starts for the Rams in 2017 but ruptured his Achilles tendon late in the season. Webster became expendable after the Rams acquired Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs and Aqib Talib from the Denver Broncos.

Now 27 years old, Webster will have little trouble finding work elsewhere but is still rehabbing from his injury and may not be ready for the start of training camp.
