Rams Chatting with Free Agent TE Zach Miller

Zach Miller

The Rams are meeting today with free-agent tight end Zach Miller, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Miller, who played in college at Nebraska-Omaha and was a sixth-round draft pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009, played last season for the Chicago Bears and caught 34 passes for 439 yards and five touchdowns.

He has 79 career receptions, nine for touchdowns.

Miller, 31, has connections to the Rams staff. Mike Groh was recently hired as the receivers coach and passing game coordinator after three seasons as the Bears’ receivers coach. Offensive coordinator Rob Boras coached Miller when he was tight ends coach for the Jaguars in 2009.

  1. Pete says:

I’m almost positive that you have the picture of wrong Zach Miller above this article. The FA Zach Miller is from Bears and played prior to that with Jags after they drafted him in 2009. The Zach Miller pictured above played for Raiders and Seahawks and was waived in 2014 due to a failed physical. I believe he has since retired.

Signing Miller would be great for the Rams to improve in the Red Zone as well as 3rd and shorts.
