A big big big BIG win for the Rams today. The Rams played some tough ball, but just about everything that needed to go our way… did go our way. We had a number of crazy fumble recoveries, we had some monster hits (most were legal), and we made big defensive stops when we needed them. The Seahawks really gave us everything they had. Give them credit because they refused to quit. The Rams were up 23-10 with just 27 seconds lefts. The Hawks had started with a short field, Wilson evaded a mirade of Rams would be tacklers and hit Kearse in the in the corner of the end zone. It wasn’t enough though. The Hawks botched an onside field and the game was in the bag.
To win this game the Ram’s offense needed to be on the field in the 4th quarter. For the Rams this is easier said than done, but today they made it happen. A drive that started at the end of the 3rd quarter saw the Rams traverse the entire length of the field. Everyone chipped in. A 6 yard pass to Brian Quick, an 8 yard pass to Benny Cunningham, a couple of runs by Todd Gurley (including a crazy 20 yard dash and Rams fumble recovery), and ultimately a 2 yard TD run by Mr Gurley. It was a beautiful thing to see the Rams taking care of business.
The Hawks dominated the Rams in passing yards, but it was the Rams defense shutting down the Hawks running game that allowed us to keep our on offense on the field just long enough to snatch the victory.
Next week we take on division rivals SF 49ers. The 49ers are struggling, but you can’t take any NFL team for granted. If the Rams can show up with the same level of execution and passion as today… we can close the year at 8-8. Very exciting Rams fans.
Hope you’re enjoying the holidays. See you next week RamsNation. Go Rams!!!
