At the half the score is Rams 7, Bengals 17. The Bengals have played a much better game than the Rams, but a couple of key Rams miscues are the obvious cause of the current score deficit. With approximately 10 minutes to go in the second quarter the Rams rush a Bengals punt deep in Bengals territory and run into the kicker. First down Bengals. The resulting drive ends with a Bengals field goal. Next, the Rams offense show their first signs of life late in the second quarter (approx 3:30 left in the second). Highlights of the drive include an 18 yard and a 14 yard pass reception from Foles to Kenny Britt. With just :44 seconds remaining, the Rams are on the Bengals 23 yard line. A TD threatening pass can not be handled by the Rams receiver and the deflection is caught by the Bengals (Nelson) for an interception.
Good news is the Rams appeared to gather some steam and confidence going into the half. Let’s hope it can be parlayed into the rest of the game. More to come… Let’s go Rams.
