The Rams came up big in the 3rd Qtr in today’s contest against the Washington Redskins. In the second drive of the quarter the Rams started on the Skins 35 yard line. A holding penalty and a 36 yard passing play to Stedman Bailey later, the Rams are sitting pretty on the Skins 1 yard line. Jared Cook does the honors with a 1 yard TD reception from Shaun Hill. After sequential 3-and-outs, the Skins make the profound mistake of punting the football to Tavon Austin who took it to the house. Tavon’s 78 yard TD run made the score 23-0 and thank you Greg Zuerlein for spanking the monkey on the butt and adding the extra point.
The Rams defense put on a show today holding the Skins offense to a total of 206 yards. Tack on 7 sacks and 1 QB hospitalization and we’re giving a game ball to the defense. Next week we take on a very good and NFC West leading Arizona Cardinals (10-3). Rams DL Michael Brockers is already talking some smack. He’s forecasting a 3rd straight shutout (last week the Rams crushed the Oakland Raiders 52-0). With a record of 6-7 it seems we need to show a little more restraint regarding game day predictions. All I’ve got to say to Mr Brockers is “let’s make it happen my very intense defensive lineman friend”. We can almost taste .500 Rams fans. Let’s go out there and make this upset a reality. Go Rams!
