Rams Lose Heartbreaker To Chargers

a6993d9c6fa7b1f0f74ccc1f3caf6099

If you were watching this game you’re still trying to catch your breath.  After a horrific third quarter (both teams played the sloppiest football I’ve ever seen) the Rams were able to limp into the 4th quarter only 3 points down (Chargers 20- Rams 17).  The Chargers have the ball.  It’s second down and they’re on their own 8 yard line.  Using up approoximately 7 minutes the Chargers drive down the field.  QB Rivers throws a short pass to the left to Allen who takes it 29 yards for a TD.  8:09 remaining and the Rams are down 10 points.  Considering how poorly the Rams have played this game is over.  Instead, the Rams return the favor.  We drive 80 yards off 14 plays and spank the monkey on the butt with a 7 yard pass to Bailey for the TD.  There is 2:09 remaining in the game (Chargers 27-Rams 24.)

Like I said before, if you watched this game you didn’t have much hope anything good would happen for the Rams at this point, but somehow the Rams defense hold the Chargers to 3 and out.  The Chargers punt to Tavon Austin who takes it house….   but you guessed it, holding Rams.  Silver lining is the Rams start this final drive on their 40 yard line.  Fast forward to 3rd and 3 and Shaun Hill hits Kenny Britt for a beautiful 27 yard pass to the SD 6 yard line.  Rams nation goes wild.  Out of the rubble the Rams have come back.  The Rams have a chance to improve their record to 5-6.  The ball is snapped and Shaun Hill has the ball.  Kenny Britt is in the center of the field and Hill throws the ball.  This could be the game… and it is the game.  Chargers DB Gilchrist intercepts the ball and is down on the 3.  The game is over and every Rams fan reaches for a respirator.  This one stings.  Ram lose 27-24 and our QB controversy continues.

Hang in the Rams fans.  I’m going to stand in front of my mirror and slappy myself until I can grasp its not the end of the world.  Next week is Thanksgiving.  Love and appreciate your family because they are so much more important than this game we follow.

Go Rams!!!

It reminded me a lot of most of the rams losses (and some of their wins) this season: miscues (penalties and QB turnovers) on critical plays costing them points and eventually the game.

@Mike. Yep, just when you think we’re about to take a step forward… Only thing that kept us in the game was that the Chargers were equally as bad.
