In last week’s 38-8 victory over the Indy Colts two young players emerged as team superstars and heroes.
Rookie RB Zac Stacy has supplied explosive power running in all 8 of the games he has played in this season. Last week he carried 26 times for 62 yards and a TD. For the season he’s only started 6 games (not sure why coach Fisher kept him off the active roster for 2 games), but during that time he’s accumulated 634 yards from scrimmage with 537 coming from rushing plus 3 TDs.
Rookie WR Tavon Austin had the break out game of his young career. Against the Colts defense he scored 3 times. His first score of the day was a 98 yard punt return putting the Rams up 20-0. Next he caught a 57 yard pass from Rams back up QB Kellen Clemens for his second TD of the game. Finally, he tagged on a magnificient 81 yard reception and scamper for TD #3. Austin was a highly touted receiver coming into the 2013 NFL draft. The Rams hope to see many more such performances from the young hero.
