Rams Pick Up Vet LB Will Witherspoon

A championship team knows you need more than star players.  You definitely need star players, but you also need the character guys who show you the right way to play the game and how to go the extra mile.  LB Will Witherspoon was the former for the Rams back in 2006-2009.  In 2006 Witherspoon provided 102 solo tackles along with 3 sacks.  The following year he racked up 92 solo tackles and 7 sacks.  That year (2007) Witherspoon was voted the Ram’s Most Valuable Player.  He was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 and in recent days he has been resigned by the Rams.  This time around Will is here to perform the latter; to come off the bench and provide a veteran presence whenever it is needed.  I applaud the Rams for this kind of signing.  With such a young Rams team he will be invaluable in the locker room and he will still provide a ferocious defensive presence when called upon.

Welcome back Will Witherspoon.
