Rams Happenings

I’m not super happy about the things I’ve been hearing.  Now is a time to build.  It’s not a time to squabble or play money games with your cornestone players.  Why are we letting Steven Jackson and Danny Amendola test the free agency market?

SJ – yes he will be 30 by the time the 2013 season rolls up on us, but he’s been extremely durable and consistent.  SJ has not declined in performance and even if there were a slight dip (which hasn’t happened) he is the guy you want around to train up new talent.  What’s he asking for?  $7M for another year?  Give the man his money.  He has been a devoted St Louis Rams for thick and thin (which is actually just thin).  Yes, it’s time to bring in new talent, but SJ has several high performance years left in the tank.  All teams need to be fiscally responsible, but not taking care of your on the field leadership is taking a step backwards.

DA – Danny is a talent.  He is also the heart and soul of the team at times.  This is another guy you want to take care of.  No matter what you have to do.  You treat Danny right and he will breathe, live, and die for you.  Let’s have some integrity Rams management.  A smooth deal that saves money (and goes straight to your own bonus) is not going to help the Rams make the playoffs in 2013.

It’s still plenty early in the offseason so who knows what rabbits Fisher is going to pull out of his hat, but let’s show some pride and take care of our guys!

Go Rams!!!

i agree sj39 and Danny A should be paid and locked up for the next 3 years on Stephens case and 4 on Danny’s. It would rip my heart out to see these two players in any other uniform!!

We don’t have the cap space to pay Steven Jackson 7 million. Danny Amendola has had a history of nagging injuries so i’m pretty sure he’s just asking for too much money and the rams can’t afford to take a chance on a guy who is injured more then not. I still think we could get a deal done for Steven. Definitely not 7 million because he just voided that.

You can not pay Steven 7mill because of the cap and Danny can’t stay on the field ! They need to free up even more money for the up coming draft and some free agents if Steven would come back for 3.5 or less then ok if not thank you D
Steven for your time in St Louis and wish him luck

I disagree. What you’re saying makes business sense, but what makes sports great is the human element. Sometimes its more important to do the right thing than to simply make the right business move.

Not only is it a business move Steven is 30 and Danny maybe great in the slot but wow look up how much he has played he can’t stay healthy look at who other teams are cutting as much as the fans fall in love with some of the player s it is about business and Steven at very best has 3 years but that’s best case. I’m a fan of both guys but you have to let the go to the free agent market if they would come back at a discount then great if not then good luck to both! Let’s see what the rams do in the free agent market . The draft is deep in safety Wr and offense line last year Jeff and Les did a awesome job in both ! I have studied the 2013 draft class since last year almost every day plus watched the kids pay and studied article after article day in and day out. I trust Jeff and Les ! Let’s go Rams ! And yes I knew 75 percent of the kids at the combine and knew how the looked on tape and knew there back ground. I will be posting as the process works out.

Danny Amendola is made of glass. He is good for a couple games at best.

  6. James says:

I still want Steven back but 7 million is outrageous. Ill be surprised if another team pays him 5 let alone 7 i think 3.5 to 4 is right around what he’s worth at this point in his career.
