Rams Hire Ryan To Run Defense

The Rams just got a whole lotta attitude on defense, as Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting the team has hired former Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan to run the Rams D.

Ryan was canned by Dallas on January 8th, and claimed “I’ll be out of work for like five minutes.”

It took a bit longer than that, but the Rams appear to have the guy they have wanted all along to run Jeff Fisher’s D.

Under Ryan, the Cowboys’ defense was 19th overall, 17th against the run and 21st against the pass.

Last season, the Rams’ defense was coached by a host of assistants after proposed defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was suspended by the NFL for his role in the New Orleans Saints’ bounty scandal.

The team announced earlier this month that Williams, who has yet to be reinstated by the NFL, won’t be with the team next season.

19th overall really? Isnt that a downgrade?

Buddy Ryan ran the 46 for the Bears. Their defense in 1986, was the best I’ve ever seen! Absolutely overwhelming.
Jeff Fisher played for B.R. I hope that portends of the Rams adapting
some version of the 46 to go with what they were employing last year.
Rob Ryan knows the 46. It’s in his blood. I hope I’m right.

  3. James says:

I hope your right but he never ran it in dallas
