Rookie of the Year – CB Janoris Jenkins
Jenkins had a few growing pains this season, but you just can’t sneeze at 4 defensive TDs (3 INT and a fumble return).
Coach Fisher had this to say about his rookie sensation, “…the last three or four weeks he’s really been playing well. It’s hard to play the position just by its nature, but for him to make the plays he’s making, especially over the last few weeks, implies that he’s getting better.”*
Daniel F. Reeves Award (player deemed to be the team’s most valuable during a given season as voted on by his teammates and coaches)
and
Carl Ekern Spirit of the Game Award (prize established in 1990 and given to the player who best exemplifies sportsmanship, work ethic and commitment to his teammates)
both awards went to RB Steven Jackson.
I think Jackson has a few years left in the tank. The Rams would be smart to keep him around.
