The St.Louis Rams are going up against another closely rated opponent as they play the Minnesota Viking this Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome. The Vikings are coming off a 21-14 home win over the Chicago Bears. The Vikings can thank RB Adrian Peterson for the victory.
Peterson put his team on his back and made it happen. His performance included 31 rushes for 154 yards and 2 TDs. Sportsbook odds have this as a Rams win, making them three-point favorites. Going forward the problem is that the Vikings are overly dependent upon him. The Vikings’ NFL pass ranking is dead last at 32nd. Here are a few other rankings for this match up:
Overall, the Rams are a more solid team and they have the benefit of playing at home. Both teams have been inconsistent throughout the year, but the Rams are coming off of 3 straight wins and are more balanced on both sides of the ball. The Rams need to come in and exercise the same tough defense that shut down the 49ers #2 ranked rushing offense (specifically attributed to Frank Gore).
Playing on the road with such an unbalanced offense and their lowly ranked defense should prove to be too much for the Vikings. Of course games like this are never a ‘gimmee’. The Rams must come in prepared, they must be ready and able to execute, and they must maintain a positive turnover ratio. A Rams win will give us a winning record for the second time this season. This is good stuff. Go Rams!!!
