With all the talk about both teams still being in the playoff hunt, this game still looks like a contest between two bad teams. Of the two, the Rams appear to be the worse. At the end of the first quarter I’m not sure the Rams had any positive yardage. The Bills passing game was fairly effective until the team reached the Rams’ red zone. Luckily for the Rams the Bills stalled in the RZ twice and a third time they fumbled the ball away. The Bills kicker was able to successfully boot 2 field goals (34 yards and 40 yards) which were the only scores of the game.
Highlights for the Rams:
1 The Rams defense was able to get a lot of pressure on the Bills QB Fitzpatrick including 3 sacks
2 Steven Jackson has had several 5+ yard runs
3 So far the Rams have been able to effectively shut down the Bills running game
Unfortunately, the Rams have had an extremely bad day on offense so far. Sam Bradford’s halftime QB Rating is 14.6. Last week the Rams saw some success isolating Steven Jackson against a 49ers linebacker for out-of-the-backfield passes. I expect to see a lot of this for the Rams in the 2nd half. The Rams defense has kept them in the game, but unless they start scoring points too, the offense has got to show up. At the half it Rams 0, Bills 6. More to come…
