The Rams were unable to keep the Niners scoreless in the second quarter. The 49ers drive was highlighted by 3 great pass-throw combos from Alex Smith to Michael Crabtree. It seems the Rams are leaving the middle of the field wide open for Crabtree who has pulled in receptions there for 14 yards, 19 yards, and another 14 yard TD catch. The TD pass by Smith came after he had taken a hard hit to the head/neck area. The Niners took him out for a medical evaluation and eventually it was announced he was not returning to the game because of a concussion. The last few 49ers drives in the half were lead by Niners back up QB Colin Kaepernick.
The stats are very close on the game with a slight edge going to the Rams on total yards gained. The halftime score is

With Alex Smith out the 49ers will have to work on their game plan. Although, we hope the best for Alex Smith, this should give the Rams an advantage in the second half. Stay tuned and go Rams!!!
