Rams Fans: Count Your Blessings

I really wanted the Rams to beat the Dolphins.  I am so tired of hearing this analyst or that analyst picking our opponents to win.  I really am, but I need to be patient.  The Rams were 2-14 last year.  Every team in the NFL is working hard and trying to get better.  Even the Cleveland Browns won a game this weekend.  I would like to say the Rams should have beaten the Dolphins this weekend, but it’s not really true.  They played hard, but they were exposed.  We are a 3-3 team.  That is how good we are.  It’s ok though because under Jeff Fisher the Rams will get better.

From the game I came up with some high level positives and negatives:

Positives

– We have a football organization that is generally going in the right direction.

– We have a couple of running backs that will make defensive coordinators think twice.

– Our quarterback is showing signs that he could be the real deal.

– Our make-shift offensive line is hanging in there.  Yes they could be better, but they are playing tough.

– We have a head coach who actually knows how to coach.  He is a coach who demands his squad to play at a high level.  He is experienced and generally level headed.

– We have some super talented young players who are only going to get better.

Negatives

– We don’t know how to close out a game (players or coaches).

– We have got to learn how to score TDs.  Asking your kicker to win the game week in and week out is not how football is played.

– We have a head coach who makes questionable end of game decisions

– We have injuries in some very key positions

– We have super talented young players that have to learn how to play in the NFL.

Overall, I think our team is in a really good place.  We have some core and fundamental positives and some negatives that can and will be overcome in time.  Yes, I’m pissed we lost to Miami, but I am ten times happier right now than I was last year at this time.  Our next game against the Texan killers (Packers) is going to be super tough, but they would be wrong to underestimate us.

Go Rams!!!
