Rams vs Ravens – Preseason Redemption

So are you as thoroughly confused as I am?  Week 1 we’re terrible, week 2 we’re great, week three we’re terrible again, and tonight against the Ravens we’re great… What will we see when the regular season begins?  Honestly, I think we’re going to get the good team.  Our bad preseason games have occurred during times when Fisher was clearly more concerned with match ups and player combinations than with the outcome of the game.  Although, we may not truly have a “run first” offense as advertised, we do seem to have the right tools to get the job done.  Then again, beating up on a Flacco–less team might not be the most toutable achievement.

Tonight in about 23 minutes Sam Bradford went 11-16 for 175 yards and 3 TDs.  This included a beautiful 46 yard pass to WR Steve Smith.  Another positive here is that Bradford stayed on his feet; he was not sacked even once tonight.  The defense, specifically Robert Quinn, sacked Baltimore back up QB Taylor and caused a fumble resulting in a Rams TD.  So, it’s only game 4 of the preseason, but it looks like the Rams are starting to click.

The real test will come in Detroit on Sunday 9/9 as we play our season road opener against the very tough Detroit Lions.  Fisher now has time to put the finishing touches on his new team.  A road win against a solid club would be a great way to start the season.  Go Rams!!!
