Fisher on Sunday’s Preseason Opener Loss

“As I said yesterday after the ball game, I am quite sure we’re going to find some good things and we did,” Fisher said. “Good effort, tremendous effort for the most part, all three phases. Some things that need to be cleaned up, things that can get fixed, and we expect to be able to do that this week. We got through this ball game healthy, which was a huge plus for us, and we’ll get some guys back this week.” From “Fisher, Rams Focused on Big Picture” by Nick Wagoner

Fisher went out to praise 5 specific areas of his team’s Sunday performance:
1 The first team offensive line got out and did some effective run blocking
2 Sam Bradford make some good throws and had a quick release
3 Steven Jackson ran the ball hard
4 Brian Quick made a great catch giving the Rams a first down
5 Rookie punter Johnny Hekker boomed a 67 yard punt that went out at the 2 yard line

For the upcoming game with the Chiefs Fisher said several injured players will be ready for the game (S Darian Stewart, WR Brandon Gibson, and CB Brad Fletcher). Plus Fisher says the coaching staff will expand the game plan a bit more than the simple approach used for the opener.

Although this piece is focused on the positive, the Rams coaching staff is completely aware of the large gaps exposed during Sunday’s game. The issues are being addressed and corrected.

Go Rams!!!
