The Rams 2012 training camp is in full swing. Positive news abounds. Everybody is excited about Jeff Fisher being on board, Chris Long is excited about his renewed contract, and when asked what he thought about training camp so far Sam Bradford said, “awesome”. If you were to read between the lines the only apparent downside going into training camp is injuries and keeping guys healthy. For example:
1 Hoomanawanui has had reoccurring knee issues.
2 Alexander has had five surgeries on his left knee over the last five years, but he is currently suffering from a lingering hamstring ailment.
3 Jason Smith has had three concussions in 3 years.
4 Rodger Saffold has recently suffered a pectoral tear while weight lifting.
5 Scott Wells has not been taking snaps since he is recovering from a knee scope he received this past May.
With that said, Wells and Alexander were the only two players held out of practice on Monday. So, silently everyone is holding their breathing and hoping the guys can stay healthy in 2012.
Finally, the team’s next open practice is this coming Friday. It’s expected to be a light practice since the Rams have scheduled an intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday at the Edward Jones Dome.
More news to come… Go Rams!!!
