Posted in It’s been a quiet day in Rams World. Details regarding Chris Long’s new contract (which actually doesn’t even come into effect until 2013) were released. Sources close to the league say he is now stinkin rich. Do you really need more details? I mean this guy is going to get a ton of money. Including this year’s salary he is looking at about $37M guaranteed. For the five years Long is now under contract he is scheduled to be paid $60 million. Sources close to me heard me say, “dang!”.
What else is going on is Rams world? The St Louis Post Dispatch posted some boring quotes from Jeff Fisher. Basically Fisher said that people aren’t as tough as they used to be so he is very cognoscente of making sure his players stretch and drink plenty of water while practicing in the St Louis heat. (yawn…)
There are minor and not so minor injury reports. My greatest concern is for our newly acquired center Scott Wells. His knee is not 100% and I hope and pray this very bad man is healthy in time for the regular season. It seems that CBs Josh Gordy and Kenric Burney were held out of practice because of tight hamstrings (who and who cares?).
Let’s be honest there simply isn’t a lot to report today. There will be an intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday so maybe we will learn something of some kind of significance then. Today we are left squirming in our seats as we fiend for football. Football, Football, Football!!! I need a fix baby. In the mean time I will have to settle for a steady diet of NFL Classic and Coors Lite. Come on preseason, come on regular season, and come on Rams!!!
