Center Wells Has ‘Injury Issues’

New Rams center Scott Wells played for Green Bay from 2004 to 2011 and has started 100 out of 111 games.  He has been incredibly tough and durable throughout his career.  Last season he was rewarded with a selection to the Pro Bowl.  This year he signed a 4 year $24M contract ($13M guaranteed) with us.  Since his PB selection was last year (not 3 or 4 years ago), I’d say this is flat out a great signing.

Wells has not been participating in recent OTAs.  The reason given is a mystery injury which should be healed up in time for official team practices.  Other sources say the mystery injury is a knee injury that occurred during the off season.  The team really needs Wells in the lineup.  He is a great leader, has a strong work ethic, and performs at a very high level (not to mention the fact that neither Rams backup centers Hebert or Barnes have ever played a down in the NFL).

For now we will have to trust Wells will be fine when it counts.
