It’s too early to tell how things will go in 2012, but it’s a good sign when a couple of our top offensive talents are feeling good about things. From a Bibber article Steven Jackson says:
This offense is very similar, not identical, but very similar to what we ran two years ago with Pat Shurmur and his offense. The learning curve has not been too harsh on myself. Sam is looking good, our receivers; we have a deep group that is very competitive that’s going to not only help us, but is also going to bring the best out of each individual guy. All in all, as an offense we’re looking good. And especially (offensive line) coach (Paul) Boudreau up front, what he’s doing with the offensive line is very impressive as well.
And again from Bibber… this time a Sam Bradford quote:
It’s definitely not the same, but this offense does have some West Coast roots, so I think at the base level, some of the things that this offense does, they are similar to what we did two years ago with Pat’s offense.
No way of telling how the familiar offense and good vibes will translate into regular season play, but it’s good to start the year with some positive mojo. I’m looking forward to coach Boudreau shoring up the offensive line and keeping our man Bradford safe and happy in 2012.
