On Jeff Fisher And The Rams

This Jeff Fisher soap opera has been dragging on for over a week now and I’m a little bit torn on this one because I don’t necessarily like Jeff Fisher.  I think he’s a good coach, not necessarily great.  But, on the other hand, he is the best available veteran head coach prospect and the Rams have very obviously made him their number 1 target.  The Rams are my team and if Jeff Fisher doesn’t choose them, that is certainly a indictment of the Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s ability to reel in the big fish when he needs to and the Rams roster and franchise as a whole.

Additionally, Jeff Fisher puts the Rams on the map in the NFL, where they have basically fallen off the edge of Discworld into laughingstock territory when anyone even deems to mention them.  Jeff Fisher would remedy that, showing the NFL world that the Rams are serious about winning and creating a stable franchise.

But, Jeff Fisher?  Really?  The guy who ran up the score on the Rams in the preseason?  But, I guess the Rams have tried the “nice guy” route with Linehan, Spagnuolo and Devaney.  It is time for the Rams to go out and getting the biggest jerk on the block for their head coach.  And I can’t say that I blame them in that approach.

But, really what it all comes down to is the fact that we all, Dolphins fans and Rams fans want this thing to be over.  Just pick one!  Throw darts at a dart board, pick names out of a hat… anything at this point.  Let one team get Jeff Fisher, enjoy the media attention for a few days and then let the other team move on to their secondary candidates.
