Bad News: Tom Brandstater is Back

When Sam Bradford was injured and unable to play this year, the Rams brought Tom Brandstater to the practice squad and then to the active roster on the Saturday before the game to back up AJ Feeley.  When Sam Bradford returned to the starting lineup, Branstater was released.

But, with Sam Bradford “very limited” in practice (via inside STL’s DJ Gelner), Brandstater is back on the practice squad (again via Mr. Gelner) and a simple fax (do they still fax?) to the NFL’s head office to move him back to the active roster if Sam Bradford is not going to play this week.

Brandstater’s proximity to the Rams roster indicates the Rams level of concern about Sam Bradford’s status:

Off roster = Bradford is fully healthy

Practice Squad = Rams are nervous about Bradford’s status and he is maybe 50/50.

Active Roster = Defcon 1.  Bradford is out and Feeley is starting.
