Looking Ahead: Quarterback

With the Rams completely out of contention this season, and everyone already looking ahead to the Rams Super Bowl (also known as The NFL Draft), it is already time to take a look at where the Rams roster stands for 2012 and beyond.  Today, we are going to take a look at the quarterbacks.

2012 Starter:  Sam Bradford – It makes no sense to move on from Bradford already, even if Andrew Luck is dangling in front of the Rams.  His contract makes that almost impossible anyway.  Will Bradford be learning his 4th offense in 4 years next year?  Bradford’s potential is still there and needs someone to develop him in a big way.  Josh McDaniels was supposed to be that guy and with a full offseason, still could be that guy.

2012 Backups: AJ Feeley is capable backup, but is out of contract and was Pat Shurmur’s guy.  Josh McDaniels or whomever is the Rams offensive coordinator next season will bring in their guy to back up.  Tom Brandstater was on the roster for a short time, but probably won’t be back.

2012 Needs: The Rams will need to pick up a backup QB and young 3rd stringer.  The backup can be picked up in free agency and the 3rd stringer can be picked up after the draft in the undrafted free agent period.
