Rams bound for shakeup?

The Billy Devaney and Steve Spagnuolo era for the Rams is sputtering.  After a 7-9 record last year the team is in disarray at a 2-8 record in the third year of the tandem’s tenure.

Does Spagnuolo have to show something over the final six games to return in 2012?

Spagnuolo said by way of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “I don’t go there only because I don’t do the six-week deal,” Spagnuolo said Monday. “I don’t go that far into the future. It’s just this game. I just know that’s how you operate in this business. The good Lord takes care of the rest.”

When asked if he’s had much dialogue with owner Stan Kroenke, Spagnuolo replied: “When I get an opportunity, I visit with Stan. But I don’t bother him. … He’s very supportive. He was in the locker room, I think it was back in Arizona. I love having him around. I have a great deal of respect for him. But he knows we’re here pounding away.”

It appears that Spagnuolo and Devaney should have reason to be concerned because Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke is looking to blow up his front office and hire a new coach. Kroenke, according to a league source, is compiling a general manager list right now.
