Bradford the Top Earner Among Players in All of St.Louis

Sam Bradford not only almost got the Rams into the postseason a year ago, he’s also the top earner among all the players in the city of St.Louis according to a new report in SI.com’s “Fortunate 50.”

Bradford quickly became one of pro football’s bright stars. So he isn’t out of place with his lofty No. 12 ranking on SI.com’s “Fortunate 50” of top-earning American athletes.

Calculations for this ranking included salary, winnings, bonuses, endorsements and appearance fees. With his haul of $27,250,000, Bradford sits one spot behind NBA star Dwyane Wade, one spot ahead of stock car driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and 14 spots ahead of Cardinals star Albert Pujols.

Noted SI.com: “The Rams signed last year’s No. 1 draft pick to the largest rookie deal in NFL history, with the bulk of money being paid out over 2011: an $18 million option bonus and an $8.4 million roster bonus.”

Bradford easily outdistanced Pujols, who ranks 26th at $21 million. Albert came up $500,000 short of the 25th-ranked athlete, Our Town’s Ryan Howard.
