Rams Select Jabara Williams and Jonathan Nelson in 7th Round

The Rams filled out their defensive depth in the end of the 7th round with Jabara Williams, LB out of Stephen F. Austin and Jonathan Nelson, DB out of Oklahoma.

Here’s a scouting report Cincy Jungle found on Williams before the draft:

Williams (6-foot-1 7/8, 228) – He ran 4.58 and 4.60 in the 40-yard dash, had a 36 1/2-inch vertical, a 9-foot-10 broad jump, 4.38-second short shuttle and 7.18-second three-cone drill. He also did 17 reps in the bench press.Williams is ranked as the 21st-best outside linebacker prospect by ESPN DraftTracker.

Here’s Chad Reuter from CBS Sports on Nelson:

Positives: Strong run defender who attacks the line of scrimmage despite lacking great size. Willing to fill gaps and put his shoulder into fullbacks coming his way. Instinctive player who diagnoses run/pass quite well. Has the short-area quickness to adjust to elusive ballcarriers coming into his area and make the tackle, as well as pick up receivers in trail coverage. Potential two-deep safety.
