Updated Rams Gab Draft Wish List

Let’s take a look at who we will be keeping an eye on for the first round of the NFL draft for the Rams on Thursday.  The players here are in order of RamsGab’s preference.  Previously, we had the fallers and risers, but everyone is all mixed up together today (with the exception of the “no” group).

1. Julio Jones – WR – Alabama – Jones is still the top of the list and there has never been a chance for him to drop to 14.  In the .1% chance he does, Rams will run the pick up.

2. Nick Fairley – DT – Auburn – Nick Fairley won’t get past 8, but if he makes it to 14, the Rams  should snag him to solve their DT problems.

3. Aldon Smith – DE – Missouri – Smith jumps up again due to his high-upside and clean bill of health.

4. Robert Quinn – DE – North Carolina –  Quinn does not have a full clean bill of health himself and did not even play last season.  He’s a smaller rusher, but would help the Rams on the edge.

5. Cameron Jordan – DE/DT – California – Jordan has the ability to fill both DT and DE need for the Rams with one pick.  Obviously, he can’t play both positions, but he’s a good pick still.

6. Prince Amukamara – CB – Nebraska – CB is not a traditional need, but probably won’t get past 13.

7. Da’Quan Bowers – DE – Clemson – I’m more worried about his knee as reports have come from more trusted reporters, including Will Carroll indicated some teams that play on turf have “red-flagged” him.

8. Cameron Jordan – DE/DT – California – Jordan has the ability

9. Corey Liuget – DT – Illinois – Liuget is still the “safety school” in my mind.

Part 3 – Just Say No

– Mark Ingram – RB – Alabama – Not in the first round and I would rather have any of the speedster backs available late in the draft.

– JJ Watt – DE – Wisconsin – 3-4 DE all the way.  Not a fit for the Rams even though Parcell has him as his top DE.

– Ryan Kerrigan – DE – Purdue – I see “non-stop motor” and “not athletically gifted” and I say “pass” because he’s too much of a reach.
