Lockout Stopping Rams From Filling Front Office

The Rams will fill up their front office in due time. But new owner Stan Kroenke isn’t going to make hires during the NFL’s lockout, and other changes in the mix for the organization remain similarly on hold. “Right now we’re not hiring because we’re in this lockout,” Kroenke told Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “A lot of this is common sense. We can parse it, but it’s common sense — nothing any different than what we would do in a normal business.

We’ll get some clarity at some point, and if we feel like we’re going to be playing football, we’ll see where we go from there.” In an expansive discussion, Kroenke talked about his philosophy in running sports organizations, something he has experience with in the NBA, NHL and English Premier League. He delegates and generally he does a good of it. “We rely on the professionals that are involved,” Kroenke said. “We’re going to try to operate this team well, and have a good competitive product. That’s what we always do.” The next step will be hiring some help once the lockout ends.
