Chris Long Changes Jersey Number from #72 to #91

Rams defensive end Chris Long is changing his jersey number, Howard Balzer of The SportsXChange reports. Long has worn #72 since entering the NFL, but has received the blessing from former teammate Leonard Little to wear #91. Long wore the number 91 during his All-American career at the University of Virginia, who retired the number during Long’s senior season. The second overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, Long has 112 tackles and 17.5 quarterback sacks in his 48-game career. Long established career-highs with 8 quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles in 2010.

  1. Cesar Noel says:

On a trivial note, two players of the greatest RAMS pass rushers wore the jersey number 91 (Kevin Greene and Leonard Little) and both played the strong side.
