Rams vs Seahawks: This is it Baby!!!

So I have been doing some reading; getting ready for the big game.  Most of what I have read has been pretty pro Rams.  Then I came to Madden NFL 11.  This simulation concludes with the Rams losing to the Seahawks 14 -7.  Now, so far today Madden is 10 of 15 games, but I am not sure how many of these games were tough to call.  What caught my eye was the points break down.  A Seahawk TD in the first quarter, a Rams TD in the 2nd, and a Seahawks TD in the 4th.  To make it a little more reflective of the recent past, I would add 10 more points to the Rams first half score (halftime score Rams 17- Seahawks 7), zero Rams points in the 3rd, and then it is anyone’s guess in the 4th.  Sound familiar?

We can’t afford a scoreless third quarter.  In our attempt to be positive Rams fans we are quick to share that the Seahawks have the worst running game in the NFL this year which is true.  But they do have Shawn Alexander and Marshaun Lynch who are both capable of some pretty explosive play.  There were many games this year when Steven Jackson was out performed by our opponent’s star running backs.  Thinking about this makes me just a little scared.  Leon Washington, their kickoff returner scares me too.  Leon ranks sixth in the NFL in kickoff returns (25.9 avg./3 TDs).

Enough with worrying.  I just want to point out that this game is no slam dunk.  I like what I see in Sam Bradford.  Overall he has been a very good QB this year.  No matter who starts for Seattle (Matt Hasselbeck or Charlie Whitehurst), neither has been very good and the  QB situation adds a degree of instability to the Seahawks.  I count Steven Jackson as a positive vs his Seahawk counterparts and look for him to make a big impact on this game.    Our defense is tougher than theirs in most categories.  My only question is who else is going to show up for the Rams?  Who will be the big play makers in this game?  Today is a great day for Danny Amendola to shine.  I pick the Rams to win 24-20, but this is going to be a great one.  The kick off is only a few minutes away.  Let’s go Rams!!!
