Rams vs Seahawks: The Down & Dirty

First, some high level stats:

(2010 OVERALL NFL RANKINGS)

PASSING YDS

Seahawks                    209.9 18th Overall

Rams                           208.7 19th Overall

RUSHING YDS

Seahawks                    85.5 32nd Overall

Rams                           102.1 23rd Overall

OPP PASSING YDS

Seahawks                    257.1 29th Overall

Rams                           225.7 21st Overall

OPP RUSHING YDS

Seahawks                    123.7 22nd Overall

Rams                                   111.3 15th Overall

And next some thoughts… The Seahawks are ranked last in the NFL in rushing.    (Are you listening Rams’ coaching staff?)  So, we need to spend a lot of time prepping for their passing game.  They are ranked very close to us in yards passing (18th and 19th respectively).  A lot has been made about Bradford’s 3,000 yard +  rookie passing season, but let’s not totally forget about Hasselbeck who has also passed for over 3k yards this season (although it is unknown whether he will play Sunday night).

Here’s the down and dirty: 1) offense – play with a purpose.  The Rams have shown they can score whenever they really want to.  Bradford has to keep the intensity up.  We cannot take any quarters off and we can’t afford stupid turnovers 2) defense – continued tough red zone play, bring lots of pressure on the Seahawks QB, and swarm WRs Williams and Obomanu.  Simple.  What a great turnaround from last year.  Go RAMS!!!
