RamView: Week 14 – Special Teams

Couple of sweet special teams plays this week. Chamberlain was pretty much an animal on coverage units, and after the Rams made it 14-6, he drilled the ball loose from Courtney Roby on the following kickoff to give the Rams the ball right back. (Unfortunately, all the big play set up was the pick-six.) Donnie Jones had a Pro Bowl-type day punting, averaging nearly 51 a kick and hitting a freaking brilliant 54-yard punt right before halftime that checked up inside the one and hung a left like he had it on a (really long) string. Josh Brown was 2-for-3 on FGs, barely missing from 46 in the 3rd. Danny Amendola had a very quiet game. He was pretty much only good for the 20 or 25 on kickoffs, even on returns where the Rams got a couple of good blocks in. Good thing special teams didn’t hurt themselves with any penalties. I’d agree with those wondering if Amendola isn’t wearing down a bit.
