RamView: Week 13 – Special Teams

The Rams picked a good week to have one of their strongest games of the year on special teams. Josh Brown was 4-for-4 on FGs, including a shocking 52-yard bomb that tied the game at 6, though he made a bit of an adventure out of a 20-yarder right before halftime. Donnie Jones averaged 50 yards a boot. Arizona didn’t do big damage with any returns; Chris Chamberlain even stuffed LaRod Stephens-Howling inside the 20 on one. Amendola was at least as effective as LSH on kickoffs, getting almost all of his returns across the 30, and he set up the tying FG in the 2nd with a 39-yard punt return. He got a big block right as he caught the ball, and heading to the far sideline, it looked like it was Sims who walled off a defender to get Danny a running lane. Just stop getting caught by the punter on long returns, huh? Nice rebound for Rams special teams from their recent problems all the same.
