Rams vs Falcons: Q1 Update

Today’s game against the Falcons is being played in St Louis.  This year we are 4-1 while playing at home.  The first drive for each team was mostly unproductive as they began to feel each other out.  In the Rams’ second offensive drive they came out looking very crisp.  After starting with good field position, Bradford threw a nine yard pass to Steven Jackson, then a 24 yard pass to  to Robinson, and shortly after wards a 25 yard TD pass to Hoomanawanui.  Josh Brown tacks on the extra point to close a very efficient and effective drive.

The next offensive drive by the Falcons saw Matt Ryan pick apart the Rams secondary.  Ryan tossed a long bomb to Roddy White for what would have been a TD (White was wide open) had Ryan not over thrown the ball.  This is a combination the Rams really need to keep an eye on.  Instead of the Falcons matching the Rams with a TD, the Rams red zone defense stood their ground and forced a field goal.

The third offensive drive by the Rams started just as the first.  Crisp, productive, and moving down the field.  The Rams and Bradford doing a good job mixing up the pass to run ratio.  The first quarter ends with the Rams at mid-field.  The score is 7-3 Rams and there is more to come.
