Rams And Top Draft WRs Going In Opposite Directions

It is never too early for a little draft talk, especially off a bye week with nothing to break down from last week.  The Rams are at .500 so far in the season and they do not look like they are going to be in the top 5 (or 2) in the NFL draft in 2011.
The Rams major glaring need is the lack of front-line wide receiver.  There are two receivers that look to be #1 potential available for the 2011 NFL draft in AJ Green and Julio Jones.  However, the Rams are playing better football and so is AJ Green and Julio Jones.  Jones and Green may be playing themselves out of the St. Louis Rams range.  The Rams could be drafting anywhere from around 10-20 if they continue on their current trajectory.
The Rams are already out of the AJ Green range, who should be picked in the top 5.  Julio Jones still looks like he could be available around the Rams potential selection, but he had a big game this week against other potential top draft pick LSU’s Patrick Peterson, which will move his stock upwards in the draft.
Julio Jones is now looking more and more like a top 15 draft pick and if the Rams continue to win football games during the 2010 season, they will be out of range for the Alabama wide receiver.  But, if the Rams continue to win in the 2010 season, they will certainly be less than concerned about where they pick in the 2011 draft.  However, missing out on the two top wide receivers will still be difficult for the reciever-needy Rams.

Don’t forget about Justin Blackmon from OSU. If he comes out he’ll be right there with Jones and Green.
