Trade Deadline Comes And Goes With No Moves

The Rams made no moves at the NFL trading deadline even though they had an open roster slot all day today.  The trading deadline in the NFL is unlike the NHL, MLB and the NBA, there is rarely any trading at all.  In fact, this season there have been more trades during the season than many previous seasons, but the trading deadline was still quiet.  In fact, there was only one move in all the league, and one that was so under the radar, it did not get announced until well after the deadline had passed.

The Rams perhaps did not even attempt to acquire anyone by trade to fill their open roster spot today, but it was very intriguing having the spot open.

There were some unfounded Twitter rumors going around, everyone’s ears perked up, but the rumors were not from the typical sources and turned out to be a whole lot of nothing. (Former Rams front office member Tony Softli’s tweet has been deleted where he says that he heard that something was being worked on at the CAA agent offices in STL.)  Old news of the day: Don’t believe everything you read on Twitter.

The former member of that roster spot, Chauncey Washington was added to the Rams practice squad.
