Rams Practice Squad Moves

The Rams have been using the practice squad as a home for players at positions with needs due to injury. (And rightfully so.)  This week, they cut Jamie McCoy from the practice squad and due to Marquis Johnson heading to the IR, they had two open spots.

They signed CB Terrail Lambert and DT Jimmy Sadler-McQueen to the practice squad.  Obviously, their current need is at corner back and defensive tackle.

Lambert has bounced around from the 49ers to the Colts and now to the Rams in just two seasons.  He’s only 5’11” and 190 lbs, but he has been known to be a burner.

Sadler-McQueen looks to be a very raw DT prospect out of Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Here’s some quick scouting reports on him:

NFL Draft Bible:

His measurables (6’2 ½, 296, 5.00) are very solid and his production (8.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks) earned him 2nd team All-LSC South honors as a senior. He doesn’t stand out on tape but flashes every once in a while and has measurables that make him worth keeping tabs on.

Draft Nasty, run by former Ram Corey Chavous:

Jimmy Sadler McQueen was named the Preseason Defensive Player of the Lone Star Conference heading into 2009. He was nagged by injuries for more than half of the season and finished as only an honorable mention on’s All-American team. Sadler-McQueen got an invitation to play in the Texas versus The Nation game, where he put in a solid week of practice but failed to stand out. He had also played in the Cactus Bowl a few weeks earlier, where he stood out a little more, registering four tackles and one tackle for a loss.

And from a Cowboys primer on him: Saddler-McQueen said the best part about his game has always been his quickness.
