Game Changers

Rams General Manager Billy Devaney has said in the past that the type of player that the Rams are looking for in the NFL Draft are “game changers”.  But, what is a “game changer”?

The type of player who can throw and receive a 25-yard slant and take it for a touchdown.  The type of player who can break a 5-yard run into a touchdown.  The type of player who can snag an interception and return it for 6.  The type of player who can get to the quarterback and get a key 3rd down sack.

There are a lot of players on a football team, but most positions cannot be called “game changing” positions.  Guard, Center, Defensive Tackle, Fullback, Outside Linebacker, these are all key positions on a team, but very few players in the NFL at these positions can be truly called “game changers”.

So, when you are thinking about who the Rams are going to select in the NFL draft, think about these big time positions:  Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Tight End, Defensive End, Cornerback.

The Rams have gone safe in the NFL draft in the past as they build the Rams up from scratch, but this year they are looking for players with a certain ability to take over a game.

Which players in the NFL draft that you would consider a game changer for the Rams?
