The Rams defeat the Patriots!! Wake the children! The Rams have done it!
Well, no victory is too small a victory over the Patriots for the Rams and the they have a small victory tonight as they have kept tight end Daniel Fells in the fold and away from the Patriots. The news was broken by Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
It was widely reported that Fells wanted an opportunity to start in 2010 and it is possible the Patriots could not offer him the guarantee of starting, but the Rams could offer him at least an open competition with the next tight end the Rams acquire (probably through the draft).
Fells is not a perfect tight end and would have to improve significantly to be an above average starter in 2010, but he is still young and improving and that is exactly the type of player the Rams should keep around.
