In a move that people with only PhDs can understand, the Rams have tendered Alex Barron at a 2nd round level, but still will pay him the full $2.7 million he will earn in 2010 if he is on the Rams. Jim Thomas has the story, which makes it look like the Rams are attempting to prep Alex Barron for a trade.  If the Rams are able to get a trade partner to offer a 2nd round pick for Barron, that will be a huge win for the Rams.  The Rams are able to get the fan’s number 1 whipping boy (with Bulger at 1A) out of St. Louis with compensation.  That’s a win win.  I don’t know how Alex Barron is viewed around the league, but honestly, if the Rams were able to even get a 3rd rounder for Barron, that would be a good move.
