Rams Miss Out On CFL Star Again

The Rams missed out on the second CFL star to interview with NFL teams, this time defensive end Ricky Foley, who signed with Seattle.

It’s easy to get hopeful about these players, but the Rams are still lowly in the NFL and when true free agents are given a choice amongst 10 teams in the NFL, they will rarely choose the Rams.  The CFL stars are highly sought after this off season because the very few number of young free agents, so the Rams will not be the only team in the running.

But, on the bright side, these are players that could not make it in the NFL in their first chance after college (or were overlooked).  They are usually less physically talented or strong and they are used to the wide open spaces of the Canadian game.

It is not great that the Rams are oh for two in signing Canadian free agents, but neither of the two players may make much of an impact on the NFL.   However, the Rams are in the hunt for these under the radar type of players, which previous Rams regimes would not have even known were available.
