Guard Roger Allen III Has Torn ACL

You have to feel bad for rookie guard Roger Allen, he makes his starting debut in the regular season finale in the Edward Jones Dome.  Allen had lots of family and friends at the game as he went to Division II Missouri Western State.  Allen was exposed by 49ers defensive end Justin Smith throughout the game and then Allen pulled up with a knee injury, ending his miserable day early.

As if it could get worse for Allen, he and the Rams found out that he has a torn ACL.  He will “pre-hab” before his surgery in approximately a month.  Allen is a good story and a good, young player who is not yet ready to start in the NFL.  Hopefully he will bounce back in 2010 to serve as depth to the Rams offensive line as he develops.
