He’s Back!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the starting right guard for your St. Louis Rams, Richie Incognito.  He’s back from his time on the shelf and will return to the starting lineup on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.  The St. Louis Post-Dispatch plays up the return of who they refer to as “Good Richie”.

Incognito did not play well in the Rams first two games of the season, however, he we able to pick up his play over his next 4 games before getting injured.  And as the Post-Dispatch article says, the Rams offensive line continued its steady play until the Seattle game.  In the Seattle game last week everything fell apart without Jason Brown, Incognito and Jason Smith.  The Rams were already starting two backups on the right side of the offensive line when center Jason Brown left the game with a knee injury and forced the Rams to shuffle the line again.  The Rams were not able to recover from 3 backups along the offensive line and both Jackson and Boller were harassed all day.

Jason Brown and Richie Incognito both returning on Sunday would allow Adam Goldberg to stand in for concussed RT Jason Smith and keep the line at full strength.  If both Incognito and Brown return on Sunday, look for the offensive line to hold up much better than against Seattle.
