Lackluster Rams Lose to Seahawks

I’m running out of words to use to describe the Rams performances in 2008 and 2009…lackluster, pathetic, listless, uninspired.  Soon a thesaurus to continue to watch the Rams attempt to play the game of football.  The Rams were beaten on all three facets of the game.  On offense, Kyle Boller was harassed all day and threw two interceptions and he wasn’t helped out by the Rams depleted offensive line and wide receivers or a gimpy Steven Jackson.  On defense, the Rams allowed over 120 yards rushing to a team that had only 4 rushing yards last week.  The Rams missed 1 field goal and never were able to get their returns past the 25 yard line on special teams.

Steven Jackson was questionable to start the game for the St. Louis Rams, but he warmed up before the game and was declared active and started the game for the St. Louis Rams, but he never looked his usual self.  Jackson started out the game strong, but never got up to full speed.  He was unable to break tackles or drag defenders like he has been able to in 2009.  This is not meant to be an indictment of Jackson, who toughed out and played through an injury in a meaningless game for the Rams. Steven Jackson stayed in the game with under 2 minutes remaining with the Rams losing by 17 and ran the ball twice towards the end zone with the Rams on the 1 yard line.  He succedded on his second try to add a garbage time touchdown to his work.

The Rams defense was able to force the Seahawks into a few 3 and outs in the middle of the game, but were unable to keep up the momentum defensively and Justin Forsett was able to slash through the Rams defense.  The Rams prevented little resistance as the Seahawks were able to run at will with huge holes in the middle of the field.

The Rams came out flat for the second home game in a row, and faded in the second half as they practiced in the beginning of the year.  It is hard to analyze what went right for the Rams, because so much went wrong.  Neither defense or offense or special teams played well.  The Seahawks are a better team than the St. Louis Rams and showed it today.
