The St. Louis Rams are facing a quarterback situation that is at a unfortunate crossroads.  The Rams do not know who their starting quarterback will be next season.  The Rams currently have 3 QBs on their roster, starter Marc Bulger who is going to earn $8.5 million next season and will be able to be cut without the Rams taking a prohibitive cap penalty in 2010.  The second is backup Kyle Boller, who if he has shown 1 thing at this point in his career, it is that he shouldn’t be allowed to be a starting quarterback.  Boller is a solid backup and uses his athleticism well coming off the bench in relief of a starting quarterback.  The Rams 3rd quarterback is unproven rookie Keith Null who was drafted in the 6th round in 2010 out of 1-AA West Texas A&M University.  Null has a big arm and looked lost at times in the preseason and needs significantly more seasoning if he is going to be ready to play in the NFL.

Where do the Rams go from here?

Bulger is probably gone for 2010 based on his injury history and his cap charge.  Boller may or may not be back.

Should the Rams use their high first round pick to take a highly touted QB (Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen, etc) to run the offense?

Should the Rams fill other needs in the first round and take a 2nd or 3rd round QB?

Should the Rams fill all their needs in the draft and take a late round QB to compete with Keith Null?

Who should the Rams sign to keep the position warm for their young QB(s)?  Should it be Jason Campbell, Sage Rosenfels, Tavaris Jackson or someone else?

Should Boller or Bulger stay for another year?

These are a lot of the questions facing the Rams at the NFL’s most important position.  The way the Rams answer it will effect the next 3-5 seasons.

What do you think?
