Rams v. Colts – It Could Happen

Peyton Manning drops back in the pocket, he feels the breath of Leonard Little creeping up on him.  He takes a few steps up in the pocket when almost out of no where he is hit by #55 James Laurinaitis and he loses the ball.  With the nimbleness of a running back, #72 scoops up the ball and runs 30 yards for a Rams TD.

After the PAT, Josh Brown kicks the ball 3 yards deep into the end zone.  Simpson takes the ball to the 10, evades one tackler, and shoots through a seem. He heads to the right sideline and is to the 25, the 30, the 35 and is hit head on by recently activated Chris Bradwell.  The ball is loose and it looks like the Rams have recovered.  Rams fans are ecstatic.  There is a time out on the field.  Chad Simpson is still down.  We still can’t see if he is moving.  The trainers are on the field and Simpson is starting to move around.  That was scary, but he is able to come off the field on his own strength.

First down and 10, the Rams are at there own 35 yard line.  Marc Bulger employs a long snap count and left tackle Antonio Johnson jumps off sides.  It’s first and 5, Bulger hands off to Jackson who burst up the middle for 10 yards.  First and 10, Bulger takes the snap from under center, he steps back, Burton and Avery work a crossing pattern, and Bulger fires the Ball to Avery who takes the ball all the way down to the 5 yard line.  First and goal and the crowd is going crazy.  Bulger takes the snap, turns to his left and misses the hand off to Jackson.  The ball is loose, but miraculously it bounces back into Bulger’s hands.  Bulger takes a wicked hit from #93 Dwight Freeney, but the Rams retain possession.   It’s second and goal and Bulger drops off a short pass to Jackson.  He goes around the corner, one defender to beat, and Touch Down St Louis Rams.

Unbelievable, just 5 minutes into the game and the Rams are up by 14.  The 0 and 6 St Louis Rams have really come to play.  On the Colts sideline, Peyton Manning appears visibly shaken.

Wishful thinking is good. Maybe the St.Louis Rams Players should have read this post about winning against the Indianapolis Colts.
