Sound and Fury Signifying Nothing

So, Rush Limbaugh is out of one of the three potential groups that were attempting to purchase the Rams.  Limbaugh was miles and miles away from owning the Rams, and yet the possibility was featured on Sportscenter, sports radio and all around the internet.  Colts owner Jim Irsay came out saying he would vote against Limbaugh entering the NFL ownership fraternity.  NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made comments saying that Rush’s comments were not welcome in the NFL.

With most political movements or announcements involving Rush Limbaugh, a lot of ink and bandwidth was used up on the prospect of Limbaugh becoming part owner of the St. Louis Rams.  People were swearing that they would quit the Rams forever if he was owner.  The Rams were going to have millions of new fans with Rush Limbaugh’s radio audience.  Limbaugh was going to prevent the Rams from signing any black players.  Limbaugh was going to ruin the Rams.  But, none of this happened because Limbaugh was not within a million miles of actually owning part of the Rams.

So, with this, the Rams are back out of the national sports and political news as usual.  All the hubbub about Rush Limbaugh’s potential Rams ownership was for naught.
